How far out from my event date may I submit a request?

We kindly ask that rental requests be submitted at least two weeks in advance. Rentals are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis.

What parking options are available at your facilities? 

Renters and their guests much park, pick up, and drop off in one of three locations:

  • The underground parking garage at the NCS Athletic Center;
  • Outside parking at the Cathedral; and
  • The Cathedral parking garage with entrances on both Woodley Road and Wisconsin Avenue.

At times when school is not in session, visitors may use surface parking spaces normally reserved for employees. All parking restrictions are enforced by Cathedral security or the District of Columbia police.

Please be aware that parking can be limited due to other events taking place on campus.

Are your facilities handicap accessible?

Yes. All of our facilities provide alternative handicap access within close proximity to primary building entrances.

What is your cancellation policy? 

Events may be cancelled by written notice received by the Facilities & Events Coordinator at NCS at any time up to seven (7) days prior to the event taking place. More information on this is provided in the rental agreement. 

What is your inclement weather policy? 

Please note that when NCS is closed due to weather or emergency situations and therefore unable to access the facility, we will make every effort to accommodate a rescheduling request. If, however, rescheduling is not an option or cannot be arranged on a mutually satisfactory basis, a refund will be issued. All information on closings and/or cancellations can be found on the NCS website (www.ncs.cathedral.org). Please note that school closings will result in cancellations of all rentals scheduled for said date.

Do you require insurance for events at your facilities? 

Yes. Renters, at their expense, must provide and maintain “occurrence-based commercial comprehensive general liability insurance”, along with appropriate liquor liability insurance if an outside caterer will serve alcoholic beverages at the event.

May we serve alcohol at our event? 

Alcoholic beverages are only permitted at NCS's sole discretion at events catered by FLIK and/or an outside caterer and must be provided by said contractor. Those who rent our facilities must ensure that any outside caterer serving alcoholic beverages at the event has all appropriate liquor licenses and must provide copies of all such liquor licenses to NCS at least ten (10) days prior to event. Alcoholic beverages may only be served and consumed in designated areas. 

What are a renter’s responsibilities regarding use of your facilities? 

Those who rent our spaces must ensure that the event is conducted in a manner that complies with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. This includes ensuring the security, safety, and orderliness of the event and participants (including any vendors and outside caterers). NCS shall be responsible for providing one (1) receptionist at the respective facility during the event. Any event serving alcohol, or comprised of 100+ attendees, will require on-site security for an additional charge. Additional fees will also be included for any event that requires housekeeping. 

Is there any additional equipment we may have access to for our event? 

  • Coat Racks - $ 25.00 each 
  • Microphone with stand - $ 50.00 each 
  • Podium & Microphone $ 25.00 each
  • A/V equipment access (projector) $ 75.00 flat rate 
  • Grand Piano $ 250.00 flat rate 
  • High Top Tables $ 15.00 each
